Ok, ok… so “curule” is really a smarty-pants-make-everyone-feel-dumb way of saying “x-based” stool, but don’t discount the “humble” stool’s contribution to interior design. The curule is also known as a Savanarola chair or a Dante chair. Whatever you call it, it is a classic piece that can be always incorporated into any decorating style.

Christmas in Paris

Although Paris is a fantastic city to visit at any time of the year, it is particularly magical around Christmas. Whether it’s the twinkling street lights, the holiday markets or the smells of delicious rich foods escaping from apartment and restaurant windows, it’s hard to ignore a holiday spirit that revolves (refreshingly) more around food than around the piggy bank.

*le sigh*: Coco Avant Chanel

Quand j’ai vu cette vidéo, il a été le coup de foudre.
Loosely translated, “when I saw this video it was love at first sight.”

The film focuses on Gabrielle Chanel’s late 20s — her work as a seamstress and cabaret singer to her life as a kept mistress of wealthy playboy Etienne Balsan and her fling with a British industrialist Arthur “Boy” Capel, all the while developing her signature style that became de rigeur for the modern woman of the 20th century.
