DIY tuesday | the metropolitan

It’s no secret that I love a good cocktail and am always on the lookout for new and different concoctions. In my search I came across a drink called the “Metropolitan,” which immediately brought to mind Whit Stillman’s deliciously satirical movie of the same name. So, of course i had to try it!

I have always been a fan of adaptive reuse, the practice of taking a building or structure that has outlived its original purpose and converting its use while retaining their historic features. So I am soooo excited that a developer purchased the Colorado National Bank Building in downtown Denver with plans to convert it into a hotel!

Cocktail Obsession: French 75

The cocktail called the French 75 is believed to have been created at Harry’s Bar in Paris around World War I — the creator liked champagne, but wanted something with more of a kick — he mixed the champagne with cognac (which was readily available during wartime.)
