It’s no secret that I love a good cocktail and am always on the lookout for new and different concoctions. In my search I came across a drink called the “Metropolitan,” which immediately brought to mind Whit Stillman’s deliciously satirical movie of the same name. So, of course i had to try it!

Christmas in Paris

Although Paris is a fantastic city to visit at any time of the year, it is particularly magical around Christmas. Whether it’s the twinkling street lights, the holiday markets or the smells of delicious rich foods escaping from apartment and restaurant windows, it’s hard to ignore a holiday spirit that revolves (refreshingly) more around food than around the piggy bank.

Cocktail Obsession: French 75

The cocktail called the French 75 is believed to have been created at Harry’s Bar in Paris around World War I — the creator liked champagne, but wanted something with more of a kick — he mixed the champagne with cognac (which was readily available during wartime.)
